Arborist Certification Workshop
September 3 - 4 | 9 am - 5 pm
Interested in becoming a certified arborist? Need CEUs for recertification of an existing ISA Arborist Certification? Or maybe just curious about what the professionals need to know?
Join our team of urban foresters, extension agents, and local certified arborists to get the training needed to pass the certification exam!
EmpowerU! Program 2024
September 9 - October 16 | Hybrid Course
EmpowerU is a new hybrid program that is designed to grow your skills on how to use science-based information to engage decision-makers about issues you are concerned about meaningfully. By the end of this course, you will have developed a 4-5 page roadmap to address your issue. This training will enhance your skills in interpersonal leadership, effective communication, and the development of partnerships.
Quick & Easy Sheet Pan Meals
September 10 | 2 pm - 4 pm & 6 pm - 8 pm
Learn how to cook easy and nutritious meals that utilize your sheet pans and baking trays! In this hands-on experience, participants will learn easy recipes that can be made on a single sheet pan. There are 4 different recipes that the class will make and we will have a sampling of each at the end of class.
Backyard Chicken Training
September 18 | 10 am - 12 pm
Learn all about raising and caring for chickens in urban environments! This class is taught virtually in partnership with UF/IFAS Extension Orange County.
The Science of Cheese Making
September 24 | 10 am - 12:30 pm & 6 pm - 8 pm
This class will focus on the basics of cheese making and provide a hands-on opportunity to make two different types of cheese!
This class is full but please join the waitlist, we will contact you if a spot opens up.
Youth Mental Health First Aid Training
September 26 | 9 am - 8:30 pm
Youth Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among children and adolescents ages 12-18. Like physical First Aid and CPR, MHFA helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis until professional assistance is obtained or the crisis is resolved. Studies show that MHFA training reduces stigma, improves knowledge, and increases first-aid actions toward people experiencing mental health and substance use challenges.
ServSafe Food Manager’s Class & Exam
September 30 | 8 am - 5 pm
The University of Florida's Food Safety and Quality Program is dedicated to providing training which enables food managers and staff to offer Florida consumers food that is prepared in a clean and safe environment.
2025 Brevard County Master Gardener Volunteer Program
This is an interest check, classes will begin in January 2025
The Florida Master Gardener Volunteer Program relies on trained and dedicated volunteers interested in gardening and giving back to their communities. Master Gardeners have the opportunity to host plant clinics at their local libraries, tend to the Brevard Discovery Garden, perform site visits to help their fellow community members, and more. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, consider signing up for our next Master Gardener class!

Brevard County Farmers Market
Every Thursday at the Regional Pavilion inside Wickham Park | 3 pm - 6 pm
Join us at the market to discover a variety of homemade food from local businesses! There are many unique products like grass-fed beef, Fresh from Florida produce, spices, honey, jams, coffee, nut butters, microgreens, edible plants, a variety of baked goods and vegan desserts, olive oil, salsas, and more! We also participate in the Fresh Access Bucks (FAB) token program! This program allows SNAP recipients to buy fresh produce and other goodies with their food stamp benefits.
