Spring into Fitness
February 3 - March 15 | Registration will remain open throughout the challenge
This year's format will be a FREE six-week individual fitness and wellness challenge starting Saturday, February 3rd, and ending Friday, March 15th. Participants can look forward to weekly in-person exercise events, educational newsletters, and fitness routines. We also partnered with Let's Walk Florida to streamline the registration process and reporting minutes of exercise.
Private Applicator Certification Review & Exam
March 1 | 8:30 am - 5 pm
Need a Private Applicator Spray License? Sign up for this Core and Private App Reviews and Exam opportunity! 8 computers are available for testing (There is a waitlist for 8 more, those on the waitlist can take the exam after the first 8 have finished). An exam voucher is required to take the exams. Lunch is provided.
Climate Cast Live
March 4 | 4 pm - 5 pm
Are you interested in learning how climate change will impact your community? Then join Streaming Science and UF/IFAS Extension for a one-hour digital field experience! We will dive into sea-level rise and stormwater, with information on how to participate in a citizen science project that empowers anyone to be a climate reporter. This event is tailored for Brevard County residents, but all are welcome to attend!
Canning: The Pickling Process
March 4 | 6 pm - 8:30 pm
Join us at the UF/IFAS Extension Office to learn how to preserve your own food! This hands-on experience will focus on the pickling process for cucumbers and more. You will be able to take your food home, so please bring a box with you as the jars will still be hot.
Putting Your Slow Cooker to Work!
March 5 | 2 pm - 4 pm & 6 pm - 8 pm
Join us to learn about slow cooker basics and food safety! In this hands-on class, participants will be able to taste multiple slow cooker recipes and prep their own ready-to-cook meal to take home.
ServSafe Manager’s Class & Exam
March 11 | 8:30 am - 5 pm
The University of Florida’s Food Safety and Quality Program is dedicated to providing training which enables food managers and staff to offer Florida consumers food that is prepared in a clean and safe environment.
Aquatic Pest Control Certification Review and Exam
March 11 | 8:30 am - 5 pm
Reviews the basic principles of Aquatic Pest Control. Exams are offered and CEUs are available! Eight spots are available for testing after the class. Be sure to choose a ticket with an exam to reserve your spot. Lunch will be provided for in-person attendees. Virtual (Zoom) attendance options are available.
Brevard Discovery Garden Spring Fling
March 16 | 9 am – 1 pm
Join us in the Brevard Discovery Garden (BDG) for our second annual Spring Fling event! There will be a wide variety of pollinator plants, veggies, and herbs available in exchange for donations. We will also have two FREE demonstrations in the garden at 9 am and 10 am, find out more in the links below. In addition to that, our Master Gardeners will be on-site to answer any gardening or plant questions you may have!

Water Bath and Pressure Canning

Join us to learn the basics of canning! This hands-on experience will focus on two canning methods, water bath and pressure canning. You will be able to take your food home, so please bring a box with you as the jars will still be hot.
FMNP Coastal Systems Course

Want to become a Florida Master Naturalist? Then join us for our next core course, this one is all about coastal systems! Topics covered will include vegetation types, conservation issues, society’s role in coastal areas, and more!
Backyard Chicken Training Class
March 20 | 10 am – 12 pm
Learn all about raising and caring for chickens in urban environments! This class is taught virtually in partnership with UF/IFAS Extension Orange County.
Hunter Safety Class
March 23 | 9 am – 4 pm
Join us to complete your hunter safety requirements! This in-person class is for those who have already completed the online portion.

Florida Friendly Landscaping Seminar
March 23 | 9 am – 2 pm
Join us at this FREE event to learn about the Indian River Lagoon, soil health, native plants, and tips and tricks for caring for native plants, plus, check out all the great vendors!
Ornamental and TurfgrassPest Control Certification Review and Exam
March 26 | 8:30 am – 5 pm
Need an O + T license? If so, this class is for you! NO CEUs available. Strictly review and exam class. Not for current license holders. Eight spaces are available for taking the exam after each review on a first-come, first-served basis. When those 8 are finished testing, the waitlist can take the test.
Brevard County Farmers Market
Every Thursday at the Regional Pavilion inside Wickham Park | 3 pm - 6 pm
Join us at the market to discover a variety of homemade food from local businesses! There are many unique products like grass-fed beef, Fresh from Florida produce, spices, honey, jams, coffee, nut butters, microgreens, edible plants, a variety of baked goods and vegan desserts, olive oil, salsas, and more! We also participate in the Fresh Access Bucks (FAB) token program! This program allows SNAP recipients to buy fresh produce and other goodies with their food stamp benefits.

My Brevard Yard Site Visits

Have your lawn and garden questions answered by our Master Gardener Volunteers! Soil samples will also be taken so you can receive an in-depth fertilizer recommendation.
Bycatch Reduction Devices (BRDs) for Recreational Crab Traps
If you own a recreational crab trap and need a BRD, stop by our Master Gardener Desk during regular business hours. These BRDs are FREE and are designed to keep terrapin turtles out of your traps. Watch this Bycatch Reduction Device video to learn more!
